President Tinubu, Obi and Governors among others have eulogized Ogbonnaya Onu.

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that President Bola Tinubu has described the former governor of the old Abia State and former Minister of Science and Technology, Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu, as a great reformer and a pillar who strongly believed in the progress, unity, and stability of Nigeria.

The President, represented by the Minister of Works, Chief Dave Umahi, at the burial of Dr. Onu at his Uburú country home in the Ohaozara Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, stated that Onu’s passing was a significant loss to both the party and Nigeria as a whole.

He noted that Onu had played an integral role in building the All Progressives Congress (APC) and was renowned for his peaceful approach to issues and his exemplary leadership qualities.

The burial was attended by prominent figures, including Mr. Peter Obi, the Labour Party presidential candidate in the 2023 election; Governors of Ebonyi, Francis Nwifuru; Enugu, Peter Mba; Abia, Alex Otti; and Deputy Governors of Anambra, Onyekachi Ibezim, and Imo State. Also in attendance were the National Chairman of APC, Alhaji Ganduje, and former Senate Presidents, Chief Pius Anyim and Chief Ken Nnamani, among other distinguished Nigerians.

In their various tributes, the attendees described Onu as a patriotic Nigerian, a perfect gentleman, a unifier, and a man who stood for justice and fairness. They praised him as a true progressive who worked tirelessly to ensure the progress, unity, and stability of Nigeria.
