Benue Deputy Speaker calls for investigation as ‘Operation Zenda’ allegedly kills constituent

Unidentified men of Operation Zenda Joint Taskforce of Benue State Police Command have reportedly killed a Benue Youth, identified as Peter Aboh Onminyi from Ado LGA at his Makurdi residence.

The reason for his gruesome murder was still unknown as at the of filing this report.

In the meantime, the Member representing Ado State Constituency and Deputy Speaker of the Benue state House of Assembly, Hon Mrs Lami Danladi Ogenyi, on Wednesday at the residence of the deceased in Makurdi, called on the Benue State Commissioner of Police, to leave no stone unturned in investigating the killing of Aboh by Men of the Operation Zenda.

Mrs Lami assured the public that no resources would be spared in unearthing the truth behind the unjustified killing of the young, promising boy from her constituency.

She also visited the office of the Commander OPS ZENDA JTF, Makurdi Command, where the men reportedly came from to carry out the raid.

While calling on every relevant authorities to intensify their investigations, the Deputy Speaker urged the teeming youths of Benue state, particularly Ado Local Government to continue to remain law abiding, promising that justice must prevail.

In company of the Deputy Speaker during the visit include; member representing Ogbadibo State Constituency, Hon Agada Ismail Samuel and member representing Makurdi South constituency, Hon Ikyan Douglas.
