The House of Representatives has urged the Federal Government to probe the circumstances that led to the killing of military personnel in Abia State. The resolution followed a motion of urgent public importance moved by Makki Yalleman on Wednesday during plenary. It would be recalled that five military personnel were killed at Obikabia Junction in Aba, Abia State. In the motion, Yalleman described the killing of the soldiers as horrendous and called for urgent action by the lawmakers. A 52-year-old estate agent, Johnbosco Dauda, was on Wednesday arraigned before a Grade ‘A’ Customary Court, Ibadan, over an alleged N430,000 fraud. Dauda, whose address was not given, is being charged with stealing and obtaining money under false pretence. The Prosecutor, Mr Philip Amusan told the court that the defendant committed the offence on May 6, at the Sango area of Ibadan. Amusan said that Dauda collected the money from the complainant, Ifeanyi Nnabuike, with the pretext of leasing a three-bedroom flat for him. An unidentified driver has hit and killed a 22-year-old female pedestrian named Elizabeth James along the Sagamu-Benin Expressway. Our correspondent gathered that the incident occurred at 9:40pm near Dalof Filling Station, Sagamu axis of the expressway. Police Spokesman, Omolola Odutola confirmed the incident in Abeokuta, saying it occurred on Sunday night.
