Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has revealed that the state does not know the number of those affected by the Okuama crisis, following the killing of four military officers and 13 soldiers, and therefore could not profile them. Governor Oborevwori disclosed this during a meeting with stakeholders from Okuama community and members of the Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) Camp Management Committee in Asaba. Armed hoodlums have shot dead one Iliyasu Abubakar in Ankpa Local Government Area of Kogi State. According to a statement by the Kogi State Police Public Relations Officer, (PPRO) SP William Ovye Aya, on Friday, some armed hoodlums drove in an unregistered Golden colour Muzzle Camry to Ojode area, in Ankpa Local Government, and started shooting sporadically, which led to the death of Abubakar. The Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) is investigating the continuous rise in food prices in Katsina State. The commission on Thursday embarked on fact-finding missions to engage with traders’ associations and marketers in Katsina. Usman Shehu Abdulkarim, FCCPC North-West Zonal Coordinator, said the commission’s inquiry suggests unfair practices in the food chain, including price gouging and hoarding. A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Abubakar Dingyadi, has urged Nigerians not to solely blame President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the escalating insecurity in the North-west region. President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Engr. Chukwuemeka Woke as the Director-General/Chief Executive Officer of the National Oil Spill Detection and Response Agency (NOSDRA).
