An unidentified driver has hit and killed a 22-year-old female pedestrian named Elizabeth James along the Sagamu-Benin Expressway. Our correspondent gathered that the incident occurred at 9:40pm near Dalof Filling Station, Sagamu axis of the expressway. Police Spokesman, Omolola Odutola confirmed the incident in Abeokuta, saying it occurred on Sunday night. Odutola said the vehicle from the Ijebu-Ode axis towards the Sagamu interchange hit male and female pedestrians beside the express road. The chairman of the Ekiti State chapter of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, Olatunde Kolapo, has directed the leadership of all affiliate unions in the state to ensure full compliance with the national strike as directed by the national body of NLC. The Ekiti State Agro Marshalls has announced the arrest of two individuals, Sheyi Alaba and Ayodeji Ajayi, in connection with the possession and trading of illicit drugs.
