The Director-General of the Niger State Agency for Internally Displaced Persons, IDPs, Danjuma Suleiman Nalongo, has disclosed that a total of 14,342 IDPs dislodged due to insecurity are currently receiving refuge at various IDP camps set up by the state government in the state. The DG, who made this disclosure in Minna, said they were displaced following incessant violent attacks by bandits or insurgent groups on rural communities over the last few years. Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State was at the Military Hospital, Benin City, on Sunday, to check on soldiers who sustained injuries during an attack by assailants in Okomu community. Operatives of Kaduna State Police Command have apprehended two suspected bandits, recovering an AK-47 rifle and five motor vehicles. The Federal Government has increased its offer of a new national minimum wage to N62,000. This comes after the organized labour dropped its demand from N494,000 to N250,000. Two unidentified labourers were brought out dead from a well after they drowned while attempting to retrieve a bucket used to fetch water in Ile-Ife. The two men, DAILY POST gathered, were engaged to work at a construction site in the town on Thursday.
