Two suspects nabbed for stealing a motorcycle from the premises of a popular eatery, Lavista, in Lafia, have reportedly escaped from the custody of the Nasarawa Youth Empowerment Agency, NAYEA.
Operatives of NAYEA arrested the suspects at various locations within the Lafia metropolis following the incident, recovering the stolen motorcycle.
According to internal sources, the suspects escaped from custody on Thursday, barely an hour after NAYEA notified the police of the arrests and plans to hand them over for further investigation and prosecution.
The suspects were reportedly handcuffed while on the premises of NAYEA.
A top official from NAYEA, who confirmed the incident, disclosed that some personnel are currently in detention for allegedly aiding the escape of the suspects.
He assured the public that the Abdullahi Bala Likita-led management would leave no stone unturned in rearresting the suspects to ensure they face the full wrath of the law.
